This month's featured article: Negative Clinical News has a Significant Impact on Formulary Access
Executive Summary
In this issue of Fingertip Formulary INSIGHTS™, we analyze the impact of negative clinical news on two drugs that have been in the media for the past few years: Vytorin and Avandia. In each case, negative news (which includes FDA alerts, medical journal articles, and general news media coverage) appears to have contributed to the decline in formulary access. Our objective was to determine if there was a correlation between the release of negative news and changes in formulary access for these drugs.
