Key Findings
- Medicare limits: Medicare plans had a significantly higher percentage of covered lives with quantity limits across all drug classes (except ED which is generally not a covered class for Medicare).
- Consistency across drug classes: Medicare plans had an average of 61% of covered lives that had quantity limits, compared to 39% for commercial plans. The differences were fairly uniform across all four studied therapeutic areas.
